About
Introduction to the Jamia Ashrafia Peshawar
Markaz Uloom-e-Nabwi ﷺ – Jamia Ashrafia Peshawar is one of the oldest Islamic educational institutions in the city. It was first established before the creation of Pakistan inside Bijori Gate, where thousands of seekers of knowledge were spiritually nurtured.
After the creation of Pakistan, on April 5, 1953, the institution was revived by Sheikh-ul-Islam Hazrat Maulana Abdul Wadood Qureshi (رحمه الله), the authorized spiritual successor of Hakim-ul-Ummat Hazrat Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi (رحمه الله).
Founded under the guidance and advice of Maulana Thanvi (رحمه الله), this institution—planted with sincerity by Sheikh-ul-Islam Maulana Abdul Wadood Qureshi (رحمه الله) and Sheikh-ul-Qur’an wal-Hadith Maulana Ashraf Ali Qureshi (رحمه الله)—has now grown into a great center of Islamic learning, where hundreds of students are currently studying the Holy Qur’an, Hadith, and other Islamic sciences.

May Allah make this institution a source of guidance and benefit.
When the Holy Prophet ﷺ began his mission, he chose Mount Safa to proclaim the message of Islam. This was not a coincidence — it was the most effective means of communication in Makkah, used to announce important matters. The Prophet ﷺ wisely used that same public platform, not rejecting it because pagans used it, but transforming it into a medium for truth and peace. Through this method, the call to Islam quickly reached every home in Makkah.
